A Little Bit About Me...

I have enjoyed teaching Chemistry, Computer Programming and Freshman General Science for the past 20 years in Missouri and Kansas. I like to use current events and computerized resources to help students learn. I love science, but more importantly I know how to help students understand concepts rather than memorize. Together we can learn skills to prepare for further study in math and science. By helping each student construct his or her own knowledge, science becomes more relevant and important.

During my Junior year of high school I began to works as an Associate/Substitute preschool teacher for the Park Hill School District in Parkville, MO. I continued my work through their program during my breaks from being a student in college. On breaks, I was able to work approximately 40hrs/weeks. The difficulty comes from attempting to connect their intuitive understanding with the symbols on the paper. Many students think of these subjects as the memorization of formulas. But if they grasp the "basic idea," they can adapt and apply it to any problems they face.
