I taught public school for 4 years before getting a masters degree in Religious Education with a Concentration in Childhood Education. I am the author of five historical novels and a number of articles, poems and short stories. I occasionally do short “residences” teaching Language Arts and Drama to special needs students in k-12 schools for VSA Arts of Florida. My graduate studies emphasized American and Tudor/Stuart History. My doctorate included a Criminal Justice minor. I regularly teach writing and grant writing seminars to adults, usually through libraries on weekends or in the evening. My mother is a reading development teacher. She works with Title 1 children every day in her job.
