A Little Bit About Me...

As a student, I was very driven to achieve a high level of excellence and by doing so I received a 3.9 G.P.A. in my Masters program. Also, during my time in my Masters program, I was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi and Kappa Delta Pi. My Masters is in Education with my specialization area being mathematics. Moreover, I have teaching licenses in North Carolina and Illinois that cover grades K-9 with middle school endorsements in mathematics, social studies, and language arts. I also have a BS in Psychology with a minor in mathematical studies. My teaching style is eclectic, drawing from a variety of instructional methods according to the immediate needs of my student. I look for the strengths, not only academic, but also social and personal, in every student. I also assess a student’s needs both formally and informally to determine areas of need and whether we are making progress in those areas. A Little Bit About Me...

I earned two bachelor degrees from the University of North Carolina in December of 2007. From there, I chose to move to Massachusetts to participate in a ground breaking fellowship at MATCH Charter Public High School. I chose this alternate route to receiving teaching certification because of the classroom experience it provided me. In addition to earning certification and completing student teaching hours, I tutored for 20-30 hours a week in all subject areas in grades 9, 10, and 11. My favorite subjects to tutor are reading, writing, history, and biology.
