I am an encourager by nature, build individuals and enjoy teaching. The civil engineering program that I successfully completed into a 4 year BS degree, was math and science intensive, with about half the courses requiring laboratory work. My highest math course was in differential equations, also I completed physics, chemistry, and electrical course material. I have had 9 years experience as either field engineer or construction superintnedent. Writing reports, conducting training and development seminars was a standard part of either job, whether the subject was construction means and methods, safety concerns or design changes. Communicating, informing, instructing and guiding were mandatory capabilites. If I were to sum my "style" of teaching up, it would be "patience with determination". My graduate work is in Policy and Management from the College of Information at the Florida State University.
