I've never met a "stupid" student. I see all people as capable, as long as they are willing. I find it easy to get a student interested in a subject when they have usually been bored in class. I easily create metaphors and practical examples for application of the subject at hand so the student can personalize their studies. Once a student sees how the subject "fits" in their life, their interest level often changes. With a Master's degree in counseling, I have had various experience working with youth on a clinical level. Before going into counseling I was on track to become a high school math teacher. I believe all students can learn mathematics. I see it to be my responsibility as a teacher to accommodate individual learning needs and to continue trying new approaches until the student has understood the material.
