Experience Summary
With a Master's degree in counseling, I have had various experience working with youth on a clinical level. Before going into counseling I was on track to become a high school math teacher. I have taken courses up through Calculus III and Number Theory. I feel very capable in this area. I also am an avid and good creative and technical writer. I have tutored students from elementary to college level in mathematics, English, writing, basic sciences, and other various humanities subjects.
Teaching Style
I've never met a "stupid" student. I see all people as capable, as long as they are willing. I find it easy to get a student interested in a subject when they have usually been bored in class. I easily create metaphors and practical examples for application of the subject at hand so the student can personalize their studies. Once a student sees how the subject "fits" in their life, their interest level often changes.
