Experience Summary
I started teaching chess at an elementary school in 2002, and continued there until 2006. While there I gained an appreciation for the power and joy of working with youth. I graduated in 2007 with a BS in Mathematics Education, and I have been teaching in the classroom for the last two years. While in college I began tutoring mathematics, and I have now been tutoring for the last six years - I have enjoyed every moment of it!
Teaching Style
I believe all students can learn mathematics. I see it to be my responsibility as a teacher to accommodate individual learning needs and to continue trying new approaches until the student has understood the material. I will adapt my teaching style to the needs of the student - they after all are the one being served, not the other way around!
