I was a tutor in high school for many elementary and middle school aged children. I am also experienced with writing papers, so I can help anyone who is writing for a college application or essay. I am a very quick learner, so if there is a subject I am not as familiar with I am willing to study it to help a student. My goal is to help students understand the context being taught, as well as teach them the importance of this knowledge. I have often used the phrase "When will I ever need this?" and I have learned later on in life that each subject is important. In 2002 I graduated with a degree in biotechnology. During the last semester of school, I was a substitute teacher, where I learned a lot about children and different teaching styles. After graduation, I pursued a career as a chemist, but I always maintained a second part-time job teaching, in some fashion. Usually, that teaching involved a pool. A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught in the classroom for children from pre-school age to third grade. After receiving training from the state of NC for child care credentials, I also have taught adults at a community college. I have occasionally worked part-time tutoring students in reading and math.
