I am a College Student studying English and Politics

I am a very firm believer that each human being has a different way of learning. I also believe that each subject has a different way to be taught. I teach based off of my students, as well as the subject.
I was a tutor in high school for many elementary and middle school aged children. I am also experienced with writing papers, so I can help anyone who is writing for a college application or essay. I am a very quick learner, so if there is a subject I am not as familiar with I am willing to study it to help a student. A Little Bit About Me...

In 2002 I graduated with a degree in biotechnology. During the last semester of school, I was a substitute teacher, where I learned a lot about children and different teaching styles. After graduation, I pursued a career as a chemist, but I always maintained a second part-time job teaching, in some fashion. Usually, that teaching involved a pool. I have been a swimming lesson instructor for 10 years and have been a YMCA swim coach for 3 seasons, coaching over 200 children per year. I taught 4th grade for 5 years in the Rock Hill School District from 1991-1996. After I completed my Master's degree, I worked for 3 years as an Elementary Guidance counselor. I enjoyed both experiences and missed the field once I was out of it. In 1999, my husband took a job in California and I did not continue teaching. I have had a variety of work experiences since then but still have the ability and desire to help children learn.
I enjoy watching children succeed and believe that all children can be successful if they are taught in a way that matches their learning style and capabilities.
