My teaching style allows students to explore their own creativity and personal talents by giving them a chance to try out new art techniques and styles that I have taught them on their own. My belief is that each student has a special gift or vision of their own as an artist. As an art teacher I give students the tools and careful instruction to achieve great results.
I have experience teaching art classes to students ranging in ages from kindergarten to high school. I have also worked with disabled students in art instruction and facilitation in various institutions. As an artist my paintings range in styles of impressionist and realism in vivid colors. On the computer and graphics side my teaching style is to get you up and running as quickly as possible. It was a skill I had to develop during my 6 years of teaching multimedia student. My teaching style for fine art is to show the student how to get in touch with the art inside of them and allow it to come through their hands. It is less about the technique of painting and more about the creative spirit being tapped into and learning to trust what happens on the medium.
My experience in the area of Graphics/Computer includes 6 years of teaching the mac programs to students attending a multimedia vocational institute. My comments on tutoring Creative Arts : I'm will be teaching you GRAPHIC DESIGN. You will be learning how to use InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator design programs. You will learn how to create business cards, flyers, brochures, posters, display graphics, newsletters, invitations and how to lay out a magazine and multi-fold inserts, among other new abilities. You will also learn photo retouching, color correction and using the many "effects" in Photoshop to create outstanding artwork. You will also learn logo design and development using Illustrator.

I have been a graphic designer for over 30 years. When I began in graphic design, it was with a desire to work at a major motion picture studio, doing graphic design in their CREATIVE ARTS department. I spent many years working for small agencies and continuing to grow my experience. I finally landed at a small agency who happened to have THE WALT DISNEY STUDIOS as it's biggest client. This was great. I got to work on several campaigns where we were to create the VHS packaging for DISNEY films including MARY POPPINS and HERCULES.
