I have taught English full time for two years, participated in numerous writing workshops, and been a fiction editor for CreateSpace Publishing and Pressque LLE from 2009 to the present. My editing work is not proofreading so much as working with authors to achieve their goals and improve their writing in areas of plot, style, character development, tone, and structure.
I learn best by teaching, and there is nothing I like so well as working with people to help them achieve their goals. Writing is, more than anything, a discipline, and I am a source of accountability, encouragement, and instruction as well as a sounding board for my student's ideas. Creative Writing is one of my top subjects! In preparing my students for the end-of-year testing we explored topics both creative and non-fiction to incorporate structure, vocabulary choices and proof-reading skills.

My classrooms were traditional with twenty to thirty students with a variety of learning and maturity levels. When I tutored students who needed additional help with the end-of-year writing tests, I worked with small groups of four to six, or one-on-one as indicated.
I have a Bachelors Degree from the Univerity of Minnesota where I obtained my secondary teaching license. I taught ninth grade English for eight years in Morris, Minnesota and focused heavily on writing, grammar, speech and the Renaissance.
