Individualized learning/teaching for optimal comprehension

I take a hands on material approach to learning/teaching. I feel that young students learn best when they can physically learn, such as through blocks/puzzles/interactive learning devices and other similar approaches. I try to let the student use their hands as much as I can to aid in their learning process. For older students such as my high school students or their college counterparts I use more direct audial teaching and visual teaching styles. Elementary Special Education Teacher

My teaching style is student centered. I try to figure out what work best for each student and go from there. If a student has a learning stye that is very hands on then I will try to make sure a portion of my lesson is tactile. It is not always easy but I strive to differentiate to meet all of my students' learning needs..

Education is a large part of who I am. I have earned two Bachelor degrees, BS in Human Development and Family Studies as well as a BA in Sociology. I initially worked in the field of social work upon graduation which gave me great insight into family life, sociological influences, and the impact of socio-economic factors on education.
