A Little Bit About Me...

I have a strong math and science background. In college, I started out in chemical engineering (2 1/2 yrs.) and then switched to education. My bachelor’s degree is a dual degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. Initially, I taught first grade in a parochial school. My next job was teaching math at the high school level to students with various learning disabilities. Next, I taught individualized mathematics at a science and technology high school. I have worked at a few different jobs and just went back to college again at Utica School of Commerce and got my certificate degree as a Medical Office Assistant.

As I was once a child with a speech impediment, I received many services such as reading and writing and speech therapy throughout my elementary years. I feel it is important to help children and students receive the services they need to succeed as soon as possible. I believe students learn best with hands on experiences and in multiple modalities.
