My comments on tutoring Spelling : I am a special education teacher who has taught and provided services within this subject area for students between K-8th grade.

I have several years of experience working in the field of education. My primary role has been as a K-8 special education teacher. I began my college journey as an English major. I decided to switch to Elementary Education to be able to reach future writers before they lost the love for it. Every student also can learn differently, whether it be by incorporating more or less visual learning strategies, auditory learning strategies, or using more of the "hands on" approach. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Illinois State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, and a friend recommended me for an assistant job within a special education cooperative. I accepted the position and continued doing this for five years. The time I spent doing this career is what ultimately made me realize my love for teaching children. The majority of my tutoring experience took place at Northern Illinois University from 2007 to 2008. There I worked in the NIU Writers’ Workshop, tutoring freshman students with assignments from their English classes. I worked with the same students each week (usually one or two at a time for 50 minutes) on both personal narratives and research papers.
