A Little Bit About Me...

I worked in the finance field at the Chicago Board of Trade while speaking Japanese for many years ( I can also read and write Hiragana and Katakana.) At some point later in life, I decided on a career change and got my degree in special education. I have taught BD/LD children mostly in the high school age group for 7 years in science, english and social studies. I had a wide spectrum of kids ranging from those with ADHD to autism.

My comments on tutoring Spelling : I have been a first and second grade teacher for 8 years, therefore I work with students on spelling daily.

Teaching has always been my passion. From babysitting to leading summer camps, I have always enjoyed helping children learn. I believe that it is unrealistic to expect students to learn at the same rate and have identical learning styles, so teachers must differentiate their instruction to account for all types of learning abilities, levels, interests, and talents.
