My comments on tutoring Desktop Publishing : We will learn the "ins and out" of the pre-press department, pre-flighting files to get them ready for the press. We will learn the various impositions for the various types of binding (saddle-bound, and coil bound). We will learn how to take in consideration every aspect of the printing process from admin. to the bindery. We will see why document made in Microsoft Word are NOT print ready (RGB versus CMYK). And much more.

I have worked in the printing industry for over 16 years—12 years as a Graphic Designer in the pre-press department. I have worked in all Adobe Programs, CoreI Draw and even MacroMedia Freehand. I have also worked in the bindery, bookmaking and mailing departments. I am unique, in that I communicate well with the customers as well as with fellow workers. I like to teach using everyday life experiences and things that are relative to the tutee. One can read MacBeth and other writers from the past and still be motivated to learn. I don't believe in memorization because that is not learning. I want the child to carry his newly learned knowledge well into his future and always have it available in the back of his mind.
