Better academics combined with more fun is the goal.

I have helped friends (and their children) to prepare for exams since when in high school I won various awards for my performance on exams. I won the top score for the Regents exam for Duval County in 1971 and for this I was recognized by the downtown Rotary Club. Also I won the top statewide scholarship award for the Chamber of Commerce and for the N.H.S. due to performance on exams. Also I won the Merit Scholarship award. I have only recently started to do tutoring for pay. Over the years I have helped my children, my grandchildren, and friends and others to prepare for exams ranging from kindergarten phonics up to and beyond SAT exams.
I consider it my duty to do what it takes to make the tutoring FUN for the person being tutored.

My comments on tutoring SAT - Math : I have tutored several students in math. I am a certified teacher in both math and physics.

I enjoy teaching and working with children. While I believe that all children can learn, they do so in their own ways and at their own pace. A good description of my teaching style sould be very descriptive, and easy to follow. I break down the math into a series of steps, and practice them until they are mastered. For the students that have already decided that they hate math, I try to excite them with topics that they can relate to, such as sports, or cooking.
