That experience led me to apply for a service scholarship which I earned to attend Florida State University. In college I volunteered at a local elementary school, following a group of students as their tutor until I graduated college. This service led to the beginning of my teaching career in Broward County. I sponsored an after school step team, and served as a team leader.
