I have been a teacher for over 16 years. I graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in Math. I currently am the Lead teacher at a special purpose school for children with disabilities. I have worked as an independent math tutor several times and have worked in the home or met at libraries. I work in Brewer and am will in to tutor during the week and on week end. Working with younger children and teens has always been fun for myself. I think it's good to get to know the student on somewhat of a personal level. This allows for you to understand how the student thinks and learns, since every student learns differently. I am a very patient person and I try to find the best possible learning approach. I recently graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in Civil Engineering in December 2009, which has given me a very strong mathematical background. I have completed courses through Calculus III, Differential Equations, and Linear Algebra. I have worked with children at the local boys and girls club, which included children in grades 4-10.

All of my teaching experience in chemistry comes from my teaching General Chemistry Labs while pursuing Graduate Studies. I love teaching and interacting with all students, although my preference is junior high and high school as I have helped out in these areas before. I love to help students who are struggling and help them achieve success which they had not thought was possible.
