A Little Bit About Me...

I have a bachelor’s degree from UC Davis in Renewable Natural Resources and a Clear Single Subject Credential in Biological Sciences and Foundational Math (all but calculus). I have home schooled my children, worked in a private school both tutoring and teaching and taught in a public high school over the last 22 years. I have tutored groups and individuals in the following subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Calculus, Trigonometry, History, English, and all subjects down to the second grade level. My desire to teach stems from my hopeful view of youth. Because of my work with persons who have physical and mental problems, I have learned to be patient and sharpen my listening skills. This way I am also able to recognize when someone is frustrated or exhausted and use these signs to better cope with any behavioral problems that may arise. I always utilize positive language and seek to understand an issue a student may have to help promote a comfortable learning environment. I find that many students respond well to a good listener and someone that takes time to give them individualized attention.
