I provide materials and a format that explains fundamental principles, present a variety of fact situations and then entertain questions and comments which drives home the principles to be learned. These are provided in a number sessions to ensure understading of the principles involved.
I have been developing teaching programs for various studies since 1979. I have also prepared and made many presentations to professional groups on various topics. As a parent of 4 children, I have a love for teaching in a variety of settings. I gain a sense of the students' interests and tie every subject back to something they are interested in. They need to "see" what difference their studies make. Learning needs to be a love, and I let my love for learning help to create that desire in the student. Once the desire is strong, the knowledge base grows easily. Patience and positive energy have served me well in tutoring younger students, and more mature students also seem to respond well to this approach.
As an engineering graduate from BYU, I have extensive training in physics and math, as well as a solid foundation in how to apply these studies to real life situations.
