A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching and tutoring people in computer usage for over 20 years now. I also used to teach computer programming in the mid 80's. I have a good understanding of mathematics and physics.
This is important stuff to learn, so I like to give an overview with specific examples on how this will apply in their everyday life. Then we go over the basics. My goal is to get the student to have a strong understanding of the material.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a team lead I have mentored and taught younger team members for over 10 years in computer programming, planning, statistical analysis, budgeting, and mathematical computations. I have also taught them how to debug problems, test solutions, and how to successfully complete their tasks. I have over 20 years experience in a variety of fields such as Defense Industry (Department of Navy), Space Systems (Atlas V lauch vehicle), and commercial (Lockheed-Martin).
My teaching/mentoring/tutoring style is tailored to the student. I do not believe their is a generic teaching style that will help all students. Most people I have worked with have difficulty understanding a couple of key points and once that obstacle is overcome learning accelerates until the next obstacle is reached. I strongly believe the tutor needs to learn from the student as well to successfully teach.

I enjoy teaching. I am patient with students and believe each has their own way of learning best. I encourage asking questions of the lesson. I feel like tutoring is helpful to the student for the careful attention to developing their personal learning style. This creates a supportive atmosphere.
As a student of the life sciences, I have gained a foundation of knowledge which consists of chemistry, physics, and biology. High scoring on graduate school entrance exams earned me a position to tutor others studying for the MCAT and GRE with a test preperation organization. Balancing the hard sciences with sociology, anthropology, and philosophy, I have been able to develop my own critical writing style. After completing my biology and chemistry degree, I volunteered for 18 months in impoverished areas in California. Following this I decided to start teaching. While at Utah State University I completed both a Masters program and a second undergraduate program simultaneously. I am currently licensed to teach high school science. However, I have also spent time teaching science classes to elementary grades (3-6). Much of my teaching style I learned while at Apple Computer in one on one computer teaching sessions. I tend to be a very enthusiastic and encouraging anyway, but Apple taught me an additional patience and a lead-learning-out teaching style that promotes self-discovery and avoids simply giving answers. Though it is geared towards adults, I have since found that adapting the patent and deliberate pace of LLO teaching to the learning level of younger children is effective and fun for both myself and the student. To be less specific, I was born to teach. I have fun doing it, and my goal is that my students have even more fun learning than I do teaching.

I try to understand the student about problem which make them not understand for each items. I thought Mathematics and Physics are not so hard but just need to get answer of something that cause most of people not understand. I thought the best teacher is not the most cleaver people but must be the one who can solve and understand what normally student don't understand and guide them about that.
I work as Engineer in Photonic Solution company. However, I am also tutor as part time job with Secondary and High school students on Mathematics and Physics about 2 years. I believed that my engineering degree has enabled me to gain understanding about Mathematics and Physics.
