A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that once a student can enjoy the process of learning they can begin to internalize the good study habits required for academic success. I use a constructivist teaching method and often use Socratic teaching as a means to have students thinking independently about their work. I am also interested in learning how each student learns so as to get the best results. I believe I'm a natural teacher, enthusiastic, intelligent, and an unusual memory for detail. I enjoy creating interesting contexts for students to learn from, and the intuition to know when a student is making progress. I have my BA in Natural Science and a Minor in Biology from UH Hilo. I then persued a Masters degree in Education and focused on Special Education. I have done a variety of power point reports and researches and have done extensive researches on various areas in the education field. A Little Bit About Me...

My experience of teaching is not in schools but I have trained many people in the art of rearing shrimp. I am very patient and encourage questions of any kind. I believe that a student needs to feel they can ask any question in order to fully understand. Any student can learn. There are many different personalities and many different ways of learning. When learning is a joy rather than a chore, a student has an even better chance to really understand the subject. My goal is to find the best method for teaching each individual student. I have earned two bachelor degrees which has given me the chance to motivate other youths and kids to seek the world and don't let it end with High school. There is more to life. Granting that Education is the key to success and without education there will be no sense of direction.
