A Little Bit About Me...

During my four years at Colorado State University, I tutored high school and college students in math and spanish. I also taught spanish to elementary school kids. After I graduated, I worked a part time position at Pueblo Community College as a Tutor/Lab Assistant. My most recent tutoring experience was working for Doctrina Tutoring (a San Diego, CA based tutoring company) this past school year. I tutored students from grade K to 12 in the areas of math, language arts, and spanish.
I always wanted to be a teacher, but ended up being an engineer. I enjoy teaching in general and tutoring is a way for me to practice teaching. I enjoy tutoring kids and teenagers and be a mentor for them. I'm easy going and knowledgeable of the material. I have been in school the last 10 years. I earned two Liberal Arts degrees in 2005. I also earned a BS in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona in 2009. During my college years, I tutored college level math and college level physics. I also worked for a private tutoring company in Montclair, CA. My specialty are Math, Chemistry and Physics. I also speak fluent Spanish.
I like to teach individual or group lessons. At college of the Desert, I had a reputation for being an easy going with a lot of patience when tutoring. My teaching philosophy is to listen to the student and to focus in his or hers needs. I use scientific or graphic calculators when needed. Also, I use computer software to accelerate their learning experience.
