Drawing is one of my top subjects! Drawing has been - and will continue to be - my lifelong passion. I graduated from Northern Virginia Community College in 2010 with an Associate's Degree in Fine Arts, and I am highly experienced in various types of media. I am also an experienced tutor, and I have a great desire to share what I have learned with others.

I have been drawing my entire life, and have successfully completed numerous high school- and college-level art courses pertaining to my major in Fine Arts. Throughout my studies, I have had extensive experience in life drawing, graphic design, animation, character and object design, and color theory. I am highly proficient in working with various types of media, including graphite, pen and ink, acrylic paint, colored pencil, and charcoal. I am a seasoned portrait artist with an affinity for capturing personal likeness, and have had the great privilege of tutoring several pupils in that area. Illustrator and visual arts instructor

Hello! I admire all things in the visual arts field and most importantly educating those that are interested or have the desire to enhance their artistic creativity. I am a recent graduate from the VCU arts program, the number one public arts school in the nation. During my time there, as well as after graduation, I have taught a variety of art class to mostly younger age children and early adolescence. Over the last 12 years I have taught children in most settings. I also have experience tutoring adults in math. My current job is working with children who have cognitive disabilities and supporting their families. I graduated from Prince George's Community college with an Associate's degree and from Bowie State University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. I am currently enrolled in a Master's program for counseling.

It has always been a passion of mine to work with and educate young children and youth. I began tutoring at a Elementary School for a few hours when I was in high school as well as assisted other children with math and reading on an as needed basis. When I was away at undergrad school, I was able to work with local Elementary children, but it was not on a consistent basis. Once I graduated from Undergrad, I returned home and began tutoring with my church and volunteered to work with the Sr. Youth Ministry as well. During this time period I also worked with two different tutoring companies.
My teaching style varies based on the child that I am working with that time. I work well as a one on one special education aide because my attention is soley on the activities and education of my students. I am a laid back worker, and extremely patient because I find that if I allow myself to get out of shape, then I am not an effective teacher and aide, and my students will see this. I strive to be a good role model to them all, even when I may be frustrated but I find constructive ways of venting such as listening to music during class quiet times and taking walks with my students during activity breaks and while they are in PE.
I have worked for one school year as a substitute for both Hanover County and Louisa County, I am Currently employed by Hanover County Public Schools as a teaching assistant while continuing my work on my graduate work. I will still be employed by hanover County Schools for the 2009-2010 School year.
