My primary aim in tutoring students is to assess exactly where they are academically, including reading level and math skills. Then I teach to their exact level. I help them to set up realistic goals and strive to meet those goals. Encouraging students and helping them to see their progress is a big part of their feeling satisfied that their efforts are showing dividends.
