I have been a full-time certified Florida mediator in family and circuit civil cases since 1988. I meet with people who are divorcing or otherwise suing each other and persuade them, if I can, to settle their differences. Since the collapse of the housing market in Florida, and the elimination of home equity from which people financed mediation, the business has contracted substantially. Of the essence in tutoring is to make the subject pertinent and fun, as well as applicable to everyday life. For small children, we have phonetics to help the child master sounds and words.
