I love teaching and working with all children. I am a firm believer that all children learn differently and, as an educator it is my job to adapt to your child's style of learning. I have worked with children of all different ages and backgrounds; and found that they key to working across the demographic is patience, compassion and a willingness to learn. As a gradute of the College of Creative Arts at West Virginia University, I was given the opportunity to learn and experience all aspects of the music education program. I earned my bachelor degree in Music Education and taught private lessons for a part time job to help put myself through school. I am currently in my fifth year of teaching and have experience in general music and middle school band. I love working with kids of all ages and enjoy the process as much as the final outcome.

Education has always been one of my greatest facinations. I achieved a BA in English grammars, a MLA in creative writing, and fifteen credits towards a PhD in literature and literary criticism. I discovered the writing center at my undergraduate university and became a tutor immediately. I found that I was in a position to learn just as much at the students I tutored. Over the past twelve years, I have continued that facination with learning in voluntary tutoring sessions. I believe in the program of teaching across the curriculum. As a teacher to be, I believe that students are much more willing to participate in writing goood papers when it is in a subject that has meaning for them.
