I teach english and portuguese since 2008. My most experience is with kids pre-k to 4th grade. I can teach all the subjects. I promote a classroom environment and design assignments that encourage students to read primary and secondary texts, patiently engage the texts and one another so as to develop their understanding of the authors’ arguments, and encourage them to formulate a position about the material.

I come from a family that gives education the first place. I have always earned good grades in school. I believe that all students can achieve the same. I understand that not everyone can perform similarly in a classroom setting because each student has his own learning style. While tutoring, I patiently take time to understand the student and adapt to his learning pace. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in a Social Science from the University of Florida, I feel that I have gained a well rounded education in all areas including English, mathematics, biology and natural sciences.I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health because I love to learn. I have been working with children ages 3-14 since I was 15 years old. I spent my summers working as a summer camp counselor. In college I worked for an organization called America Reads and tutored approximately 10 elementary students in reading.
