Painting is one of my top subjects! I'm an alumnus of the University of Florida where I received my bachelors degree in painting. I have experience in Acrylic and Oil painting. I am a very energetic teacher and like to get my students excited about what we are about to do. I like to tell them the days objectives and work with them from there. I plan eventually to incorporate other art forms for example poetry, or music to evoke emotional responses to paint. But before I delve into any of that I would be very thorough about the fundamentals of painting. Helping them to understand the differences and similarities between painting and drawing and how they both require the ability of seeing and perceiving.

My comments on tutoring Painting : I would be comfortable working with students using acrylic or tempera paint.

I am a big proponent of the theory of multiple intelligences and believe that each student has certain styles of learning that work best for them. I aim to help students figure out how they learn best. Once they realize where their strengths are, they can incorporate the concept into all of their studies, not just the subject for which I happen to be tutoring them.
I have tutored a wide variety students on many subjects. I am most experienced tutoring high school students for the SAT. I worked with Let's Get Ready, a non-profit organization dedicated to preparing high school students for the SAT and their college search process. I have been working as a private tutor from my home or student's home for 3 years. I have tutored elementary through college level students. I am able to teach a variety of subjects, however my forte is English and Composition. I have the honor of being a published author. I am an expert in MLA or APA style writing. I have also tutored in College Algebra, elementary math, Biology, and Reading. I speak conversational French, and am able to teach up to the secondary level.
It is my belief that everyone is able to learn, and what produces that ability is having support.
