My teaching style is about trying to make the information being taught relevant to what happens in the real-world. I have worked professionally in the Biology/Environmental field for 20 years+. I worked as an "in-house" tutor for Calvert County School Board (2000),as well as, mentored high school level students on science fair projects. I have extensive experience in natural resources management, water quality, general biology, and environmental science. I take a hands on material approach to learning/teaching. I feel that young students learn best when they can physically learn, such as through blocks/puzzles/interactive learning devices and other similar approaches. I try to let the student use their hands as much as I can to aid in their learning process. For older students such as my high school students or their college counterparts I use more direct audial teaching and visual teaching styles. I have always been passionate about communications and teaching. I began tutoring mathematics in High School and during my undergraduate schooling I mentored and tutored introductory university level physics, calculus, chemistry, and organic chemistry. I am currently in graduate school at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine studying Molecular Biology and Genomics but remain informally interested in mathematics and physics.
