The first thing I do with any new student is identify his or her learning style so that I may incorporate those specific strategies into my lesson for an effective and personalized learning experience. My lessons are very interactive, and a main aspect is to nurture critical thinking. After setting up a situation, I will pose problems for the student to solve. Critical thinking is necessary in order to navigate foreign grammar and truly understand the material. I began to realize my love and aptitude for tutoring as a volunteer Japanese instructor for the Daikin home-stay program in 2006. As both salutitorian of my high school graduating class, and a Chancellor Scholar at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, I have the drive, determination, and know how to succeed on any academic playing field and compete with the best of the best. I have a BS in Elementary Education with an emphasis in music.
