The gift of teaching, advising, coaching, communicating and motivating was realized early in high school by school administrator of mine. After earning my Bachelors degree in Education in 1988 I taught GED,ESL,ABE, and advised law students while running the library. I am a life long learner and have taught in prisons,(state and federal)(1988,1997-1999), public schools(1988-2007),private (1992-1998), and home schooled my own son (1992-2000). I have been certified to teach in 6 different states and taught Internationally at a private boarding school(2007-2009). I earned a Masters degree in Organization Management and continued educating myself in a vast array of academic subjects.

I have much experience tutoring young children from ages 5-14 in all of the four main subjects. It all started with my little sister when I was in High school and began expanding from their with her classmates and classmate friends and so forth bringing me to volunteer at the YMCA for young boys and girls club after school program, and I also have worked at public schools in D.C for after school programs for home work time. I have been tutoring for the past 5 years and have used my experience to help young children grow in education and achieve academic goals. I generally enjoy using flash cards as a form to help the child grow in what ever subject they need help growing in. More importantly though to me it generally depends on the child his/herself and if they are auditory, visual, or kinesthetic learners.

I love it when a student who has been struggling with a concept has a light bulb go off and they are so excited to finally understand. I have over 2o years of business experience in the areas of accounting, banking and human resources with 2 masters degrees as well as a bachelors degree in business. I enjoy teaching and training at all levels from elementary students to adults.
