I like to incorporate heart when I teach. Every student is special and keeps teaching interesting. I believe in the ability of the learner and must help them find success. I am patient but firm. Much of my teaching style I learned while at Apple Computer in one on one computer teaching sessions. It is important to walk around the classroom and ask students how they are doing and if they understand the concepts. Many times it only then will a student accept help. In 2003 I traveled to India where I began work in a village in the South teaching English and Sociology to 4-11th graders. Teaching is not my career, however, I have taught young children through 6th grade many years ago using a spoken system followed up by TV. Children learned the meaning of the words in context without having to translate each time. It was a fun interactive experience. This gave them a feel for the intonations and pronounciation of the language and a good sense of what they were communicating from repetition and use.
