In high school and throughout my college career, I have tutored many ages- varying from age 8 to age 30. I've earned a BA in English from Kent State University in 2007, and it has helped me to understand the importance of literacy in young adults as well as continuing education. After working in the Marketing/PR field for 5 years, I relocated to Puerto Rico to be with my husband. Not having a solid foundation of the language, I could not obtain a job in my previous field. It was at this time that I discovered the world of education. I began substitute teaching at the Department of Defense School and continued doing that for one year. We were then relocated to Savannah, GA and I was hired by a private school to teach 6th and 7th grade English, Literature and Social Studies. The method we were instructed to use in the Akron city school system was Integrated which uses basic and whole language approach language Arts. I earned a 98% in my College Algebra course this past fall so I am here to lend a hand to those who could use it. My focus in college was Communication with a minor in Philosophy.
