A Little Bit About Me...

As an undergraduate student I was always in the top ten percentile of my math, chemistry and biology classes, and as a result, I tutored fellow college students in those respective subjects. After earning my bachelor degree in biology, I worked as an educator at the South Carolina Aquarium where I taught interactive classes to kindergarten, middle school and high school students. I also worked for the Leadership Development Program at the College of Charleston where I co-facilitated student leadership classes. And most recently, while in graduate school I held a teaching assistant position and tutored freshman and sophomore college students in topics related to international development.

Reflective of my disposition, immediately in order to establish a conducive learning environment in which the student feels comfortable, I try to employ a mellow, patient, open-minded and light-hearted atmosphere. I very much enjoy teaching, and try to make it so my student(s) enjoys learning. I was once asked by a student, "Are you a Biology teacher?" I replied, "No, just a student."
