I have put a lot of thought and effort into my teaching style. I love teaching and love working with all types of students. I believe in learning through a hands-on approach and through real-world applications. I beleive that all students have the potential to succeed and there is no such thing as a "dumb kid." Becoming a teacher has been one of my life's passions. I am a firm believer that all children can learn if given every option to be successful. In order to achieve success, students should be surrounded with tools to help them learn and a positive learning environment is key. Teachers should not expect all children to learn at the same pace nor same learning style. I never give up on my students. Students need teachers who do not accept failure and teach perseverance.
I have devoted my life as a mother of three and as an educator. I have earned a BA in English and a Master's Degree in Special Education. In addition, I have dual certification in New York State. I am very knowledgeable in the areas of History, English, and Life Science. My students have a high success rate for passing New York State Regent's Exams.

A Little Bit About Me...

My first career was as a Registered Professional Nurse (NYS licensure) for 25 years. During those years, I kept up my interest in various fields of math, such as Abstract Algebra, Differential equations, and topology. I was especially interested in algebraically-capable computer math programs. I,eventually, went back to school for my Mathematics degree as part of a long-standing interest in and commitment to Mathematics. I presently teach students who are "at risk" in the 7th through 12th grades and have done so for the last 10-11 years at OHM-BOCES. I have tutored the NYS Math B course for 5 years as well as the current NYS Algebra I/II courses.
