A Little Bit About Me...

I have completed a MAST (Mathematics as Strategic Teaching) Seminar. I have completed training over engaging difficult students and I have also learned more innovative techniques in which to use when engaging students who are trying to achieve more challenging skills. I designed a program called Math Mates, which was an after school intervention program for students who needed more hands on time for learning, I opened the program up for all students but set aside certain days when specific students were invited so we could use more hands on manipulative and we worked on the different content standards.

I always wanted to become a math teacher, but in order to become one in a communist regime; you had to be a member in the Romanian Communist Party. So, I obtained a BS in Mechanical Engineer (172 credit hours). I was working as a designer in Romania and had in parallel a private math and physics tutoring business. At NEIU I finished a lot of credits hours toward my second BA in Secondary Education Mathematics. Meanwhile, I found a job as a Mechanical Engineer at Mercury Products. Three years ago I have relocated with my husband's company in Dayton, Ohio. Meanwhile, I found an Estimator job at PTC and I was laid off due to the economy. So, I pursued my Alternative ATL at Antioch McGregor University and finished it this year.

I left Russia in 1993 when I was a Full Professor in the Department of Mathematics of the Moscow Inst. of Chemical Engng Industry, Russia. After that I worked as a researcher in Germany, Austria, Italy, and USA (from 1998). Now my son is a student of Vassar Liberal Collage. I regularly taught all scholar math (advanced level) to him. From time to time, I also taught some parts of scholar math (including SAT) to other students of a high school. I usually carried out the lessons with either one or two students. My current position is in psychology/engineering research.
