My teaching style is very patient, kind, and laid back. I believe that everyone has the potential to learn and finish the work they are given, so I very rarely tell someone how to finish a problem or correct a sentence. Instead, I give suggestions of things to think about and ask a lot of questions so that the student can get to the answer themselves. I will gladly point them in the right direction but hesitate to ever point to the answer as I feel the lesson is very easily lost. I have completed training over engaging difficult students and I have also learned more innovative techniques in which to use when engaging students who are trying to achieve more challenging skills. I designed a program called Math Mates, which was an after school intervention program for students who needed more hands on time for learning, I opened the program up for all students but set aside certain days when specific students were invited so we could use more hands on manipulative and we worked on the different content standards.

I have advanced degrees in mathematics, statistics, and in biology area. I have taught in higher education for 36 years. I have also tutored my higher education students many times. I have done volunteer work to teach grade school and high school students. On example, this year I volunteered to tutor in the student assistance center at Urbana University, Urbana Ohio. So I do have tutoring experience. I can tutor in math, statistics, biology.
I really enjoy teaching and tutoring college students but could also tutor high school students and grade school. Important is for me to be aware of what the student is finding difficult to learn. So, I obtained a BS in Mechanical Engineer (172 credit hours). I was working as a designer in Romania and had in parallel a private math and physics tutoring business. I teach the students not to stop their thinking process once a numerical value has been calculated.
