A Little Bit About Me...

I can teach with a classical, contemporary, or sacred emphasis. My style puts a focus on theory and technique, which are important foundations for becoming an outstanding pianist. My desire is to not only teach piano but to also instill a passion for music within my students.
I have played piano as long as I can remember. I took lessons from Rachel Daugherty in elementary school. I took lessons from Lauren Mann in middle school. I took lessons from Louise Barfield my Freshman and Sophomore years in high school. I currently take lessons from Tom Rule. I have been the pianist at my church for almost three years. I have won awards at Literary Competitions for playing the piano. I have accompanied the chorus at my school.

I get to know the children first then get them involved in the assingment with eagerness and excitement. Then the children are to go and show off their knowledge. That way they will know it much better than before. The knowlege is input into the student's brain, and then I have them output the knowledge; therefore it is being repeated, and instilled more and more into their brain everytime. I love to see children eager to learn, and even better try. I push the students who are struggling so that they will not get stepped on. I motivate them, and have them motivate theirselves and others around them. I give the students materials that they already know, and then start building from there. My belief is every student has a chance to succeed.
