A Little Bit About Me...

I can teach with a classical, contemporary, or sacred emphasis. My style puts a focus on theory and technique, which are important foundations for becoming an outstanding pianist. My desire is to not only teach piano but to also instill a passion for music within my students.
I have played piano as long as I can remember. I took lessons from Rachel Daugherty in elementary school. I took lessons from Lauren Mann in middle school. I took lessons from Louise Barfield my Freshman and Sophomore years in high school. I currently take lessons from Tom Rule. I have been the pianist at my church for almost three years. I have won awards at Literary Competitions for playing the piano. I have accompanied the chorus at my school.

I love children and am very patient and encouraging. I always look to find their strengths and help each child to recognize his/her own individual gifts and talents. I bring lots of energy, enthusiasm, and creativity to my instruction. Teaching has never been a "job" to me...it is a passion and a huge part of my life. It has been such a blessing to bring the joy of music to the lives of so many children throughout the years.
I graduated from Georgia College and State University with a Bachelor of Music Education, with piano as my applied instrument. I have twenty-three years of experience teaching elementary music and seven years of teaching middle and high school music, chorus, and drama.
