In public schools, I have taught all grades 7-12. I have taught high school physics, high school chemistry, high school biology, 7th grade science. I usually start by teaching the general mechanics of the instrument, demonstrating the different features of the guitar and how they work. I believe that it is paramount that students learn how to tune their instrument before they can play it. I show them the techniques of working the fretboard and how to produce a proper tone.
