Drawing is one of my top subjects! I have been drawing with various types of pencil since about the ninth grade. I can't exactly explain why but drawing seemed to come to me as naturally as breathing. As with Sketchup, I have learned several methods for drawing over many years that most will find very beneficial to drawing an accurate likeness, especially with regard to portraiture of people and pets.

While I have not received a degree in any of the fields that I am experienced enough to tutor in, I have been working in the Audio Visual industry for over 12 years and have learned a great many things that are essential to successful use of any of these tools.Whether you live near me in North Carolina or in Hawaii and need my assistance, please feel free to drop me a line and lets see what I can do to help you.
My teaching style is usually hands on however where possible, I also have the ability to tutor remotely, greatly increasing the opportunity for distance learning.

Creative, energetic tutor with special needs experience

I homeschooled a gifted third grader, including administering standardized end-of-grade test, for 1 year. I have tutored homeschooled first and third graders in math, reading, writing, social studies, and art for the last 6 months. I tutored a 8-12-year-old with autism spectrum for 4 years. I provided respite for children with disabilities for several years. I have coached Special Olympics swimming for 11 years for teens and adults. I have informally given piano lessons. I prefer a hands-on approach when possible. I lik to help the children relate to what they are learning in order to help them remember it.
I was a straight A student throughout school. I am currently a high school senior, so the information is still fresh in my mind. I have spent a few semesters as a tutor and volunteer assistant in a local elementary school. I enjoy working with children and being able to help them succeed in school, because without school, the future is bleak!

Let's learn and Have fun while doing it!

I am here for you. All I aim to do is ensure that your child understands the work they are doing, and teach them a much easier way to comprehend what they are attempting to learn. As a child it can be hard to relate to the work at hand, and as a teacher it can be very complicated to break down the learning material so that the child may understand the lesson. I am here to make learning fun and easy so that grades may improve and education is achieved.

I earned two bachelor degrees from the University of North Carolina in December of 2007. From there, I chose to move to Massachusetts to participate in a ground breaking fellowship at MATCH Charter Public High School. I chose this alternate route to receiving teaching certification because of the classroom experience it provided me. In addition to earning certification and completing student teaching hours, I tutored for 20-30 hours a week in all subject areas in grades 9, 10, and 11. A Little Bit About Me...

I love working with children. I've taught acting at the Durham Arts Council for three years. The duties from that position included directing students in performances which I helped them create. The plays were written around themes chosen by the camp director. So, in essence, the children and I would research those themes and develop stories which I would then turn into plays using my expertise. Those plays would be performed every two weeks for the entire summer. I was responsible for preparing three classes for this project simultaneously.
From my experiences teaching acting in Durham NC I know education can I know that learning can be fun. I hold a Bachelor's from UNC Greensboro where I majored in Psychology and theater arts, but also took many literature credits to fulfill a special educational program in which I was placed. this program was for gifted students. In the beginning being a doctor was all that I desired. Helping others, tending to their wounds and etc was my dream. It wasn't until I had the honor of tutoring others that I realized, my passion to teach was equally as strong as my passion for medicine. I feel no child is incapable of learning. As long as one remembers that everyone is different, and that each person brings a different amount of prior knowledge with them. By bearing that in mind it allows you the ability to adjust and when working with children a teacher must know how to adjust so that each child is reached. I love education, and I love assisting others in reaching their potential.
During my time as an undergraduate I was blessed with the opportunity of tutoring others. I have earned one bachelor degree, BS in Biology with and emphasis in genetics. Along with my bachelors I have obtained two minors as well, one c ... read more
