My comments on tutoring Shakespeare : I made an A in a reading/writing intensive Shakespeare course at Lincoln Memorial University.

I have been tutoring both peers and high school students during my stay at Lincoln Memorial University. Students regularly asked me to proofread their papers, and parents frequently contacted me for help with high school students senior research papers. I have made consistent A's in all of my English classes, and I currently hold a Bachelors degree in English.

What I have learned in my tutoring experience is that every individual has their own learning style - thus, I work with those tutored to find what means works best for them, and stress conceptual understanding over rote memorization. Teaching is not unidirectional: indeed, it is one of the best ways to cement for oneself the information being given.
