Creative Writing is one of my top subjects! I took five semesters of Advanced Creative Writing with Lincoln Memorial University's Writer-in-Residence Darnell Arnoult. I made consistently high A's in Creative Non-Fiction as well as Fiction.

I have been tutoring both peers and high school students during my stay at Lincoln Memorial University. I taught High School US, World and European history to grades 10 - 12. I taught AP European History and Government. I taught Geography, Civics, and Psychology for 5 years. I have owned my own construction firm for 10 years and worked in manufacturing. My specialty is European History with an emphasis in the classics. My literature background is not formal but is extensive.
I have always emphasized the immeasurable distinction between education and schooling. Although the two are not necessarily mutually exclusive, in our era they are more and more. I strive to draw a student into a fascination with learning. If that occurs, then education is a fait accompli.

I explore their previous knowledge and build on that, avoiding either boring them or talking over their heads. I listen, we laugh, and then I reel them in, constantly showing them how my goals are relevant to their ultimate desires.
