My career in education began while attending CSUN. I started as a paraprofessional at a charter school, and also was able to teach my own elective classes. I graduated with a BA in Deaf Studies, with a concentration in Language and Culture. After moving to northern California, I worked at a college as an ASL interpreter. I went on to teach ASL at a private High School in San Francisco for 3 years. I am currently teaching Deaf students at the high school level. I have earned 3 bachelors degrees(Business Administration, Economics, Psychology,) a masters in education, and Certificates in Education, Natural Science, Paralegal, Driver's Education, and a Professional Certificate in Education. I have been teaching and tutoring for 22 years. I have taught all core classes (Math, English, Social studies and Science, and CTE-Business/Marketing.
I love teaching. It seems children are drawn to me. I am patient and kind and love to have fun. In tutoring, I assess to where the child needs the most help and use my time where it is needed most. I believe in multiple intelligences.

I have tutored a handful of high school students in English and Mathematics. My personality in my social life is outgoing, friendly, and talkative. My tutoring style is no different. In my own schooling experience, I've found that I learn quicker and most efficiently when the person teaching me is more of a friend than a superior. The students I've tutored looked at me as a peer who could help them with their studies as opposed to a teacher. I whole heartedly believe that a comfortable and friendly atmosphere is the key to successful learning. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a wealth of experience in many different areas. I have a bachelor degree in Economics. I started to work with special needs children. This was on a volunteer basis and so I don't think I listed it on my resume. I then substituted in the public schools for elementary and secondary schools. I tutored in the community college to college students. I opened my own school and taught medical classes. I have taught ESL in South Korea for 3 years to kids and adults.
I like to incorporate heart when I teach. Every student is special and keeps teaching interesting. I believe in the ability of the learner and must help them find success. I am patient but firm.
