I got my first teaching experience as a lab instructor for undergraduate physics labs and fell in love with the profession. The best part of the experience is seeing the student grasp a concept that they felt out of reach. I enjoy coming up with inventive ways of communicating the difficult portions of math and science. The simple love of learning that I exuded in the classroom setting was initially enough fuel for my fire to enjoy being in the presence of this age group. I found that allowing some sense of humor to the situation in instructing most subjects eased the pain for the children who may not have wanted to be there. All children did want to learn. I finished my associate’s degree in 1 year. The day I graduated I was asked to join the faculty of the community college. I taught there for 3 years and reached the highest academic rank available to me. In addition to the technical skills required of drafters, and renderers, I bring a high level of artistic training, graphics arts experience and design drafting expertise with me and I use all of it for the benefit of my students I have taught widely varying subjects to many kinds of students.
