Hi everyone! My name is Danielle Miyagishima and I've been tutoring math and science for pay for the last 2 years. I have done private tutoring for high school and college students. I have also been employed by NMSU's tutoring center. I have also served as a "BioCat" which is a biology catalyst. A biology catalyst is a type of teaching assistant that works with NMSU's biology department. I got my first teaching experience as a lab instructor for undergraduate physics labs and fell in love with the profession. The best part of the experience is seeing the student grasp a concept that they felt out of reach. I enjoy coming up with inventive ways of communicating the difficult portions of math and science. Upon entering college in 1998, I had already taken Calculus while most other students were typically taking Algebra. I have taught college level classes to minority mid and high school students at University of Illinois and George Washington University. I was also a teachers assistant at NMSU while I was in grad school the last 2 years. I TA'd for statistics class. Specifically EST 311.
