A Little Bit About Me...

In today's classroom environment, I feel like some students might be a little hesitant to ask questions and to ask for quidance. This in part could be due to a teacher's overload and inability to provide one-on-one instruction or perhaps due to peer pressure and the student feeling like they could be viewed as "not measuring up" by some of their classmates. As a high school student, I had a teacher who dramatically influenced my life and my future career. She instilled in me the love for accounting. I hope I have learned by example. All students have potential. Some just need a little extra guidance and direction. I have found through the students I have privately tutored in the past that step-by-step instruction and repetition works best. I finished my BA with concentrations in management and accounting at Troy University in 2007,then worked for three years in an Accounting Office. I left there in January 2010 to pursue my Masters in Accounting. I gained valuable experience in reading, writing and the application of mathematical formulas through working in a fast paced accounting office. I supervised one to three employees, trained them and audited their work. I have never officially tutored a student, but I have trained employees on accounting principals and how to write to the IRS and clients, as well as helping out friends and fellow students. Teaching and coaching students to excel is a gift, and I was blessed with that gift.
