A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching social studies in Cabarrus County for the past 12 years. I am nationally board certified and have my AP certification in World History. This summer I will be receiving my IB training and will begin teaching AP world history in the IB classroom. I generally teach through visual aids and through very thorough explanations. If the student doesn't understand the first time I explain something, I will explain it in a different way and will keep explaining it in different ways until he/she fully understands what's being taught. Writing Skills is one of my top subjects! Although I am not especially trained to teach writing. I have been writing for a large portion of my life and I graduated high school taking all honors English classes. I have also taken College English and am currently enrolled in a college creative writing class at Stanly Community college. I have written many stories, poems and songs and writing just comes naturally to me. I would love to help anyone find joy in writing as well as success.

The way I teach depends on the needs of the student. I personally learn by being show and then doing something while someone stands there to make sure I do it correctly until I can do it on my own.
